Cash Langdon Pulls Off Magic Again
Yesterday, Cash Langdon shared “Magic Again,” the first single from his upcoming album “Dogs.” The opening guitar lands like a tonal snapshot from the legendary post-punk album “Pink Flag” by Wire. Langdon’s distinct voice scales back the post-punk nihilism, though—rather than a despondent sneer, you get sincerity and vulnerability. It’s a great way to subvert expectations (especially if you’re listening to Cash for the first time).

The instrumental breakdowns later in the track echo the distinct sound of early 90s alt rock (something along the lines of The Breeders). These sections also give the band a chance to display their locked-in dynamics, highlighting just how tight they’ve gotten after a heavy couple years of live shows.
Seasick Records, Birmingham’s taste-making record store and community hub, is jumping into the imprint game and giving “Dogs” a proper release alongside Well Kept Secret on May 2. Seems like a perfect match.
