About analog mountains

Analog Mountains (AM) is a blog based out of Birmingham, Alabama, that covers interesting, independent music from the Southeast.

The Southeast has long been a cultural hotbed for independent music, from Athens pop to Memphis punk to East Nashville garage rock to the Happenin Records-era of central Alabama. Over the past decade, many regional music outlets have disappeared, and in central Alabama, the daily and weekly papers have either folded or stopped covering music. AM hopes to look back on some of those great scenes, while highlighting the emerging artists from a region not often celebrated for outsider tunes.
